Pelican Island

Pelican Island

By Best of Sanford | Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens
The (tree) swallow has a forked tail with two "prongs", the feathers are usually glossy with white or brown belly feathers. Teddy Roosevelt had an experience with a lot of swallows in his house
Foxes burrows are usually underground. But sometimes they are above ground in hollows. Teddy Roosevelt saw a foxes burrow.
We discovered a weasel's hole and a foxes burrow.
The weasel is the smallest European carnivore. It has a black tip to its tail and is normally 170g (.374 lbs). Teddy Roosevelt had seen a weasels hole.
This is Pelican Island. A refuge for birds, turtles, and other animals, made by president Roosevelt.
